Sway says, "I will be at the Jason's Deli on Travis and McKinney, just down the street from the McKinney entrance to the tunnels, from 11:30ish to 12:30. 901 McKinney. I'd love for anyone coming to stop in before they go down and give me their information so we can know who is down there in case there is a conflict. If you can't make that work, no big. Also, I can escort you to the tunnels from there. My phone number is 832-603-1903. Please log this into your phone now."

An anonymous friend made this helpful map. Download and print it, if you can.
Notice the colored  dots. They represent the Mckinney tunnel entrance, restroom, coffee shop, and art spaces. If you get lost, seek out Seattle's Best Coffee to regroup.

Some Tips for Dealing with the "Authorities" h/t Sonia

Some tips on dealing with the "authorities":
-noone has to say anything to anyone, just leave (or at least move) if someone tells you to leave.
-Once you have been given a warning to leave, you will be considered trespassers if you stay and can be arrested.
-If a police officer asks you to identify yourself, you must. But that is all. You can accomplish this by showing your driver's license. You do not have to say anything, but if you want to ask you may ask, "Am I being arrested?"
-the BUDDY system. we all should have a buddy that can be aware of our performance and location and help us contact our legal representation in the event that we are detained
-if, in the event that people are detained, we can leave our names with the Lawyers Guild and someone can check on us
-If we have a list of names of performers that we want to pass on to the Lawyer's Guild just in case, we should make one up. I cannot say that the guild would represent people for free, but it's possible. cause we be freeky and awesome.
-also, stay away from checkpoints or the areas of the tunnels where the court entrances are. Every morning, prisoners are transported in these tunnels from the jails to the courts, and security is more strict at these times. The security checkpoints near the entrances to the courthouses will be a more sensitive area so you might want to avoid if you can.
-if you are wearing a costume, show up in plain clothes and get dressed in the bathrooms of the tunnels
-MOST IMPORTANTLY: this is art. It is not always understood, but it does leave an impact. DO NOT BE INTIMIDATED OR AFRAID TO EXPRESS YOURSELF. Know your rights and act in confidence because what you do, and who you are, is important in the world. ENJOY YOURSELF :)

How to Tunnelfuk

Tunnelfukking is easy and fun.

  1. Take the bus or rail to Main St. Square. Look at all the lines that go there!

2. Enter the tunnel system at Mckinney Place.

3. Continually bear right to get to the Downtown Loop (red) Tunnel.

4. When you enter the Downtown Loop Tunnel, watch for the restroom entrance and remember its location. Continue to bear to the right, and you will find the group.

5. You can tunnelfuk alone, or with a group, or you can alternate. You can perform individually, with a group, or both.

6. Wear bright costumey clothes for good visual effect.

7. A few things to keep in mind:
  • There's no cell service down there but the coffee shops have wi-fi
  • In Houston, it is illegal to show your ass, cock, balls, pussy, or--if you're a woman--breasts
  • Don't do anything to get yourself arrested, such as violating the smoking or open container ordinances (unless your performances is to get yourself arrested).
8. Sway and I--and hopefully some others--will be around to help you get oriented. The fukking itself will be fairly organic to the moment.

9. Document discreetly! Use a bag or a hat to conceal your camera. Pretend to be talking in a phone. Use your wits!
